Maria Hupfield – Artist Prize 2023
Maria will serve as a guest juror for Next In Fibre: Fibreworks 2026 at the Cambridge Art Galleries. The exhibition, to be held from August 22 to November 8, 2026 will feature work by emerging artists working with fibre as a medium.

Camille Turner – Artist Prize 2018
The McMichael Canadian Art Collection has acquired a work by Camille TurnerIn Pride and Possibilities, which is  part of her Hometown Queen series. Hometown Queen is a series of photographs that depict Turner dressed as her performance alter ego, Miss Canadiana – a pointed and persistent challenge to narrow ideas of who gets to be seen as “Canadian.”

Sandra Brewster – Artist Prize 2018
The current issue of PUBLIC 72 titled (Searching for) Home includes an essay written by Emilie Contant on the practice of Sandra Brewster.

Sarah Milroy – Founders Achievement Award 2011
Sarah Milroy will serve as a judge in the Art Canada Institute sixth annual Canadian Art Inspiration Student Challenge. The challenge invites students in grades 7 to 12 to participate in the youth art competition. The 2026 theme, Canada Through My Eyes,” asks students to reinterpret Canada’s artistic legacy in original ways. Winners will receive cash prizes and have the opportunity to show their work at Art Toronto in the fall of 2026.

Kelly Mark – Artist Prize 2002
In an article published December 18, 2026 in the Toronto Star, Brandon Kaufman cited the celebration of the work of Kelly Mark Everything and Nothing at the Olga Koper Gallery as one of the three highlights of the year in the Toronto art scene.

Lisa Steele and Kim Tomczak – Founders Achievement Award 2023
A number of Toronto parks and recreation facility projects are underway to grow our city’s green spaces. These include Liberty Village with a proposed park at 10 Ordnance Street. The design includes a commissioned public art sculpture depicting a family of beavers, made from repurposed timber and lumber by artists Lisa Steele and Kim Tomczak. Target completion date is winter 2028/2029.

Marie Hupfield – Artist Prize 2023
Held together by Glitter Tape, a cabaret style event held at the Tranzac Club on March 12 included a performance by Maria Hupfield. The evening represented a collage of sound, story, movement, and shared memory-making from various Indigenous and Black acts local to the GTA.

Isabel Okoro – Artist Prize 2024
Isabel Okoro has a solo exhibition Fond Traces of Fluid Landscapes of recent work at Smokestack Gallery in Hamilton. The work is a consolidation of her visual archive, bringing together portraits and spatial images captured over the last eight years across Lagos, Toronto, Mexico City, and New York.

Adam David Brown – Artist Prize 2009
An exhibition of new work by Adam David Brown Everything I want at MKG127 will be on from March 21 to April 28, 2026

Gwen MacGregor – Artist Prize 2003
If you happen to be in Saskatoon, from March 28 until September 6, 2026 the work of Gwen MacGregor will be included in a group exhibition Material.After.Life at Remai Modern. The exhibition will bring together artists who transform discarded and everyday materials into reflective, humorous, and newly animated works.

South of the Border

Nep Sidhu – Artist Prize 2017
On March 7, 2026 Total Response brought together at Wellin Hall, Schambach Center Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, sound and Simran, a focused practice of the mind rooted in contemporary Sikh philosophy, to upend traditional notions of performer and audience. Nep Sidhu was one of the organizers of the event. A recording of the concert will become a sound installation in the forthcoming Wellin Museum exhibition Sidhu and without SHAPE without FORM: Awakened by the Unstruck, opening Fall 2027.

Nadia Belerique – Artist Prize 2015
The work of Nadia Belerique will be shown in an upcoming exhibition to be held at times, a brand new arts space in New York City dedicated to presence over permanence founded by Summer Guthery and Francesca Sonara.

Shellie Zhang – Artist Prize 2021
Good Form I Yale University’s Sculpture MFA Thesis exhibition for 2026 included work by Shellie Zhang which ran until March 9, 2026. Working across materials such as light, metal, found objects, and glass, Zhang explored how these surfaces operate as perceptual thresholds, encrusted with historical projections and embedded with anxieties around gender, race, and sexuality beneath their ornate veneers.

Esmaa Mohamoud – Artist Prize 2019
Roberts Projects (Los Angeles) has  announced its representation of Esmaa MohamoudThe announcement follows the gallery’s first solo exhibition with the artist in 2025, What Does Webster’s Say About Soul?

International 

Lotus L Kang – Artist Prize 2015
Bvlgari, an exclusive partner of La Biennale di Venezia, has selected Lotus L Kang to inaugurate its pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale with a new installation. The exhibition will run from May 9 to November 22, 2026. The commission will continue her enduring engagement with time and questions of “becoming”.

Alexa Hatanaka – Artist Prize 2023
Koyo Kouoh, (recently deceased), invited Alexa Kumiko Hatanaka to the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia to participate in her vision, In Minor Keys.

In addition, Kotaro Nukaga Roppongi, Tokyo is presenting ついたよ : Becoming by Making, a two-person exhibition by Kazuhito Kawai and Hatanaka, from March 14 to April 10, 2026. In this exhibition, the practices of these two artists have continuously transformed themselves through the ongoing acts of kneading clay, dyeing paper, and making.

Sameer Farooq – Artist Prize 2022
This April, 2026 Sameer Farooq will be artist in residence at Worlding Residency London (UK) as part of the newly established annual Toronto-focused residency series set up by Canada<->International, a partnership with the Toronto Biennial of Art (TBA). This series gives Toronto-based artists an opportunity to live and work in London, connecting with the wider global art scene there. Sameer’s residency will be followed by a talk in Toronto at Toronto Public Library, North York on June 5 2026.
