With the goals of promoting the appreciation of and commitment to the visual arts, as well as exploring new avenues of life-long learning, members of TFVA are encouraged to enjoy hundreds of activities in all aspects of painting, sculpture, photography, performance art, digital, video, new media, mixed media art and more. All of our varied learning opportunities are organized by volunteers, with advisors drawn from academia, publishing, galleries and museums.
Members may participate in gallery walks, tour museum exhibitions with a curator, attend lectures and films on a wide variety of artistic subjects, visit private collections in residences, view corporate collections, engage with artists during studio visits and socialize with colleagues. Annually, TFVA announces our newest prize recipients and celebrates their achievements through public presentations and the media. On-going recognition occurs through TFVA’s monthly newsletter and regular social media posts on Instagram. @tfva.ca
Consider joining the Toronto Friends of the Visual Arts! TFVA is vibrant and strong due to the commitment of all its members. Our programs and events that we offer our members are well planned and educational. It is the voluntary participation of our members who share their skills and interests, from which all our members benefit. In addition to the process where applicants are sponsored by other members, we invite you to apply directly to us. Currently TFVA is operating at a maximum number of members but we do invite you to join our wait list. Please complete this email form, indicating your interest in joining, and someone from our Membership Committee will contact you. Thanks in advance for your interest!
The TFVA Trust Fund was established with the Toronto Community Foundation in June 2004. A grant may be given annually with the interest earned.
