Maria Hupfield—Artist Prize 2023
An installation by the Native Art Department International (NADI), a collaborative long-term project, created and administered by Maria Hupfield and Jason Lujan, will be featured in the Barrie, ON exhibition, Seeds to Sow, from September 27 to November 8.

At the third Toronto Biennial of Art, Hupfield collaborates with storyteller and multi-instrumentalist, Olivia Shortt, and transmedia artist and UofT professor of black studies, SA Smythe, in relation to her commission, The Supernatural Powers of Fabulous Panther (Biimskojiwan). This program takes place September 21 to December 1.

Ghazaleh Avarzamani—Artist Prize 2022
Ghazaleh Avarzamani will be a speaker at Shore Time, an international gathering celebrating the intersections of art, design, economy, ecology, and foodways, on Fogo Island, NL. Ghazaleh is currently an artist-in-residence on Fogo Island.

Sameer Farooq—Artist Prize 2022
Sameer Farooq is among the 30 artists longlisted for the 2024 Sobey Art Award, Canada’s preeminent contemporary visuals arts award. This year, Circumpolar was added as a sixth nomination region, increasing representation from across the country.

Tau Lewis—Artist Prize 2019
Tau Lewis’ Spirit Level is at the Institute of Contemporary Art/ Boston from August 2024 – January 20, 2025. This is her first solo museum exhibition in the US.

Sandra Brewster—Artist Prize 2018
Sandra Brewster is juror for the SPAO Photo Walk, an ongoing and evolving outdoor installation featuring large-scale photographic artworks designed to enhance Ottawa’s Little Italy neighbourhood.
